Description

The 2015/16 year has seen significant progress in informatics strategy across the West of England region and we are now on the digital roadmap journey to achieving the targets as set out in the 5 Year Forward View and the National Information Board’s‘Personalised Health and Care 2020: a framework for action.’ However there is still a long way to go to achieving a digital state which works for everyone. By combining our efforts we can help share the learning and knowledge which will make this journey easier and quicker.

On the day we will combine brief updates on digital progress from each of our health and social care communities with an agenda of wider strategic interest including research and information analysis opportunities, partnership development and guidance on locating funding sources. The day will also include the next face to face meeting of the emerging West of England Chief Clinical Information Officer network.

Organised by

The West of England Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) brings together all the key players innovating health and care in our region.

We are one of 15 AHSNs across the country, established by NHS England in 2013. Here in the West of England, our AHSN has earned a reputation for its ambitious, joined-up vision for healthcare innovation and transformation.

Since our launch, our priority has been to work across organisational and geographical boundaries, involving our entire network in both development and delivery to drive transformation that is based on genuine need, is successfully embedded and sustainable.

With our unique expertise and cross-sector connections, we understand both the ‘push and pull’ of demand on healthcare innovation. We actively nurture an innovation ecosystem around health and care, removing obstacles and bringing diverse groups together to conceive and maximise new ways of working.
